Hi Great site. My youngest son is doing much better in school then before he is now 10 he is reading and is very good in math. He can tell you how many minutes are left two years from now. However his social skills and moter skills need more time to develop. He was speach delayed did not talk until he was four he would just point and grunt. He can not handle lowed noises. His older brothers were swimming at age three. He is just starting to swim now but has a hard time to understand how to turn his head to breath. So he flips over on his back and floats to breath. We put him in karate in May,The teachers are great and patient with him when he speaks out of turn. Yesterday he learned all his first defense moves 1-8 and was able to do them in order doing half mooning forward and back wards. I just could not believe how well he is doing. Jesse does not hange out with kids his own age. He plays with kids about 4-8 years old. And just can not get enough Yugio trading cards. He can tell you everthing about it and the numbers game on it is good for him. But playing the real game is a little hard for him. The special ed program here in Laguna Beach California is great. We have a hard time living here because of the cost of living. but my wife will not move because of the programs here. Jesse loves the little baby parrots. He likes the Umbrellas the best he calls them Cuddles. However when the macaws get older then two months he is scared of them. Even when they are very sweet and loving. Just too big for him. I have been working with the elderly for 16 years now. we have a board and care home,we use all our baby parrots for therapy with them and it is a great program. It helps those with Alzheimer's stay calm and redirectes them from wanting to go home when there is no home to go to. What happens is, They say "I want to go home" In their mind they think they are maybe 5 years old back on the farm. When they can not get there they become agitated. This can lead to hitting or just walking out the door. There are many thing you can do to redirect them or give stronger drugs to calm them down. but they just do not work well. We found that giving them a baby parrots just works the best. they forget about wanting to leave and redirect their feelings into the bird by cuddling,scratching and talking to the baby. My be I will tell later on about a couple stories. my friend has an adopted daughter,she has been living with her and husband since she was 3 .she is now 10. the problem she ,my friend is finding is that her husband is in complete denial that there is anything wrong with their daughter although she exibits signs of aspburgers syndrome.is there anyone available in Australia that she can take her to get a propper diagnosis so her university graduate husband can relate to. |
